Our district is full of veterans groups. We are not alone. There are the Vietnam Veterans of America, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Marine Corps League, Military Order of the Purple Heart, and others.
We also have special relationships with the VA Hospital and their many service organizations, churches, and other groups.
All of us are working for the same purpose, helping our veterans, our active duty personnel, and their families. We also look after the youth of our communities and the Boy Scouts.
We can not do it alone. Seek out and work with other groups in your area. Create events and fundraisers where all can assist in the project or cause.
Let’s make some of our local veterans programs a unified service event, just like we did on active duty when we worked with joint commands, operations, and staffs. It works.
