Ray G. Smith

Ray G. Smith, former National Commander, American Legion, died on October 26, 2011.  He was the national commander of a 2.8 million-member American Legion in 2000.  He also served on the North Carolina Veterans Affairs Commission for the past ten years.

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., at the American Legion Building in Benson.  Burial will follow the service.
