Chapel Hill Post 6 has been working hard all year to restore their post. They are doing it one brick, one tile, one bucket at a time. It has given the working party members an uplifted spirit and enthusiasm for tackling projects both big and small. Learn more
The post membership has also responded with a new wave of volunteerism. There is no job too small. Everyone can do something.
It seems that Orange High School has a similar spirit. They call it Paying It Forward after the movie. If your recall, it is about a student who does something for someone with no expectation of return rewards. It explodes into a network of interwoven acts of helpfulness to others.
Orange High School is going to hold its Second Annual Pay It Forward Event Dinner on April 17th. Time is 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
They have invited local veterans to attend. Let’s take them up on their offer. We can both cheer them on for their efforts and we can take away a renewed spirit and motivation to help others. We can do that as individuals or as members of our respective posts.
Schley, Prospect Hill, Mebane, and Chapel Hill are especially encouraged to attend. What we learn and take away is sure to be a district meeting agenda item.
