Up in Yanceyville, the American Legion and VFW Posts get together to carry the flag that leads the Spring Fling Parade. Chapel Hill even sends up a few members to give us a hand.
Our parade is not too long and the crowds are smaller, but it is a pleasure to carry the flag and lead the parade.
We also setup a welcome table to share information on the American Legion. Miniature flags were given out and we made a few new friends. What about your Post? If you are out and about, share it with the district. You may even motivate others to participate in hometown parades.
