The Orange County Veterans Service Office in Hillsborough is without a full-time officer to serve them. However, veterans are welcome to call on District Veteran Service Officer Terry McMillan for service. He will be available at the Orange County DSS office in Hillsborough from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Friday to assist Orange County veterans in filling out applications for veterans’ benefits.
Orange County is working on a final solution and has reached out to local veterans for their help.
The Orange County Department of Social Services is currently seeking veteran participants for focus groups that will discuss services the county provides to area veterans. The department plans to hold several focus groups to garner feedback about the needs of Orange County veterans.
Times have not been determined, but the department plans to hold focus groups in both Chapel Hill and Hillsborough.
