The U.S. Navy will be honoring Jerry Smith, a member of Durham Post 7, on August 27th in the afternoon. The Navy is honoring him as a surviving World War II Seabee turning 100 years old.
Jerrry and his wife, Betty, are Durham residents. Jerry is an original Navy Seabee, serving from 1942 to 1945.
