Students Honor Veterans – Nov 12th

American Legion Chapel Rededication

The University of North Carolina Hospitals is rededicating the John M. Reeves All Faiths Chapel at North Carolina Memorial Hospital, Chapel Hill, on October 24, 4 p.m. This chapel was first built 50 years ago through the generosity of North Carolina American Legionnaires. Continue reading

Vets Offered No-cost PC Repairs

A local Hillsborough business is offering no-cost computer repair to local area veterans. This service includes software repair and parts installation. The benefactor does not sell the veteran parts, but can assist them in getting the parts at local parts centers. Continue reading

College Baseball in Chapel Hill

The Chapel Hill Post has announced that Carolina will play Duke on April 20th. The university’s Athletic Department has provided a special offer for the military. Tickets are just $3 a seat for the veteran and his family. Continue reading

Werden Wins District Oratorical Contest

Local post contestants merged on Durham Post 7 this weekend to compete in the District 12 Oratorical Contest. Alex Werden, Chapel Hill High School, won the competition. Chapel Hill Post 6 sponsored him. Continue reading

Media Coverage

Our posts are doing better in their efforts to gain media attention. Small hometown newspapers are now seeking information from our posts for their papers and are a rapidly growing media group. You can use prepared news releases on American Legion programs and projects from the library of releases provided to you from national. Just fill in the missing information and submit it to your paper or local radio station. Continue reading
