Membership in the American Legion is not required to receive services from the federal government.  We are a fraternal war veterans organization and one of our services to veterans (member or non-member) is access to an American Legion Veterans Service Officer.  There is not charge for this service.

Your government also provides free or nominal fee services for our local veterans.  The  federal government, through the Department of Veterans Affairs and other federal agencies, offers and provides routine service for any individual or veteran for free or for a nominal charge.
