The web sites are built using WordPress.  WordPress is used extensively on the web.  It is a solid platform that is built to support the both large and small website builders.

An important advantage for our posts is continuity. Unlike individual web sites for posts, many using unique software or systems, American Legion, District 12, North Carolina sites are all based on the same structure with the same software.  Each post has a unique web page, but the look and feel are the same.

This gives protection to the District. When there is a change in website managers, post blogger, or district leadership, the  site will continue to function.  Pages can be updated to show new leaders and information, but district blog (newsletter stories), will remain for several years as our district’s history.

And, while you are at it, take a look at the information on the many Google products that can help you with communications, photo editing, sharing files, and uploading videos.  There is also information on LibreOffice.

With these additional tools, you can  save your post and members thousands of dollars by using no-cost software.  Remember, no-cost software is what powers your smartphone and many websites.
