Welcome to the American Legion Post of tomorrow, Today! Built by and for American Legionnaires and other area veterans to serve tomorrow’s returning veterans. Built on 128 acres of recent farmland, it is truly an inspiring facility.
Chapel Hill Post 6 was one of the first post chartered in North Carolina. Its history dates back to the summer of 1919. That is over 100 years of history and support of veterans in our state.

Our beginnings in Chapel Hill–Our Story
The post home on Legion Road was the second Chapel Hill Post Home. The first was built in downtown Chapel Hill on Rosemary Street, now the site of new construction on the west side of Rosemary St, near Columbia.
It was once the largest post site in North Carolina with over 30 acres of land. Much of it is wooded. There was also a large pond stocked with Blue Gill, Bream, and other fish. It will, hopefully, become a community park in Chapel Hill.
This was their story that led to the eventual sale of that site and relocation to their 128 acre site.
